An all-out assault of madness and mayhem by some of the world’s biggest talents setting the soundtrack to a ghoulish night unlike any other; the main Tomb of Doom arena is headlined by the #1 DJ in the world, Armin Van Buuren. Without mercy in sounds Sasha, Hernan Cattaneo and John O’Callaghan will sadistically keep the costumed masses dancing without rest till the break of dawn.

Entraping all the lost souls outside the tombs; the House of Horror as resurrected by Saturday Night Sessions is nothing short of turmoil-embossed hell House for savage beats by BBC Radio 1’s Pete Tong and the King of electroclash Felix da Housecat on the deadly decks. TV Rock fleshes out from down under with James Zabiela adding venom and a LIVE installment of Crystal Castles performance. DJ Reza rounds out the clock within the most literal manifestation of this fiery dominion.

As mandated by the record-breaking attendance of over 65,000 last year, the techno infused Phantom Chamber will unleash Steve Lawler in a most haunting territory within the city of plastic dreams. The initial line-up for the first night of the festival includes Miami exclusive performances from: Tiësto, Bloc Party, The Ting Tings, Santogold and–making their first US appearance as a full band in seven years–drum and bass legends Roni Size Reprazent. Miami exclusive Artists confirmed for the second night of the festival include, Cut Copy, Deadmau5, Crystal Castles, The Presets, Hercules and Love Affair, Simian Mobile Disco, and Busy P. Carl Cox will also return to perform on both Friday and Saturday and will host the legendary Carl Cox and Friends arena with a full complement of special guests TBA. Many additional artists will be announced in the coming weeks.

Last year over 55,000 dance music enthusiasts coming from the entire United States and over 50 countries around the world were in attendance, marking it as the largest ever UMF event and ranking at #14 on Pollstar’s 2008 Mid Year Top 100 Concert Grosses. “The Ultra Music Festival, which started as an afterthought at the Winter Music Conference a decade ago but has now become its biggest event, more than lived up to expectations this weekend at downtown Miami’s Bicentennial Park,” wrote Miami Herald pop music critic Mike Hamersly in his review of last year’s festival (March 30, 2008). Added the Los Angeles Times (via their blog) of the Winter Music Conference April 2, “…the highlight of the week of DJ-centric festivities was surely the massive Ultra Music Festival. Taking place…over two days at downtown Miami’s Bicentennial Park, Ultra did not disappoint.”

In addition to the annual Miami festival, UMF has expanded internationally to include events in Sao Paulo, Belo Horizonte, San Juan, Madrid and Ibiza. UMF recently added a January 2 festival in Cambriou exclusively featuring Tiësto’s only 2009 Brazilian performance.

Born in Holland, Tiësto became a DJ because he 'liked to share music with other people. In 1997 Tiësto, along with Arny Bink, formed Black Hole Recordings, the label that launched the hugely acclaimed Magik, In Search Of Sunrise, and Nyana mix compilations. The label grew to such proportions that in 2001 Tiësto started a sub-label, Magik Muzik. Though known primarily for his pioneering contributions to the trance scene, Tiësto's style is now a mix of everything: 'trance, house, techno - it's the best of all that the dance world has to offer.

Tiësto is currently experimenting with new sounds in the studio, and writing more vocals himself. The most recent result of this new approach of course is his latest album 'Elements of Life', which sky rocketed to the highest positions in today's charts. The future for Tiësto promises yet further success, both as the solo artist he has become and the DJ we know him to be. 'The long anticipated 'In Search of Sunrise 7' and the 'Elements of Life World Tour' DVD have been released and there will be more remixes, definitely,' he agrees.

He genuinely enjoys his achievements, but Tiësto keeps both feet on the ground: 'It's hard to look too far into the future. Every couple of months it seems that something new, unexpected and exciting is happening!'

The Roseland Ballroom is a catering hall/music venue/dance hall in a converted ice skating rink with a colorful ballroom dancing pedigree in New York City's theatre district on West 52nd Street. The venue can accommodate 3,200 standing (with an additional 300 upstairs), 2,500 for a dance party, between 1,500 and 1,800 in theatre style and 800-1,000 for a sit-down dinner.

The quirky venue has hosted everything from a Hillary Clinton birthday party to annual gay circuit parties to movie premieres to musical performances from all genres including Madonna (musician), Paul McCartney and the Rolling Stones.

The rear of the venue faces West 53rd Street and the Ed Sullivan Theater. It is seen virtually every time that comedian David Letterman has outside antics during taping of the Late Show with David Letterman beside his theater (prompting various attempts to paint the industrial looking wall to make it look better on national television).
