New Photo Leak For Rane 58SL Mixer For Serato!

Just a few days after the New Year, we did a story of what is said to be a “Leaked Photo” of the new “Rane 58SL” mixer for Serato (Actual Name Unknown). There now appears to be a second photo and new hope for its actual existence. Although we can’t confirm any of the technical details of this “Mystery Mixer”… It clearly appears to be a 2-channel mixer and follows right inline with the design layout of the Rane 68 and includes a ton of buttons and knobs.

With the Winter NAMM set to start on January 19th, I cant wait to learn more about this “Mystery Mixer”. And most importantly I cant wait to get my hands on one.

With the Winter NAMM show just around the corner, there has been much speculation of a possible Rane Empath SL mixer release for Serato. But could this be a leaked photo of a 2-channel Rane TTM 58SL instead? Maybe even a Rane Sixty-Seven? Based on appearance, it seems this unknown mixer follows right in line with the Rane Sixty-Eight. Maybe so! Maybe not. Only the guys at Rane and Serato truly know. We’ll shall see. My fingers are crossed.

Smokin’ Joe Mekhael Determined To Break The World Record For Longest DJ Set

On Friday December 16th, Smokin’ Joe Mekhael started mixing at 9pm in an effort to break the Guinness World Record for Longest DJ Set ever. Currently at 113 hours and counting, it appears Smokin’ Joe is well on his way. The current record of five days and 19 minutes is held by DJ King from Brasil.

If he lasts, Mr Mekhael will break the previous record of five days and 19 minutes just before 9:30pm today at the Empire Hotel in Potts Point. He plans to extend the record and continue until Friday.

Here are the rules he has to follow:

- There must be no pauses longer than ten seconds between tunes; music must
be continuous.

- No individual disc, and no piece of music, may be repeated in performance within four hours. A list of all the tunes played must be maintained and submitted as evidence.

- The event should take place on stage in a club or similar venue, open to
members of the public, and not in a recording studio.

- For each hour of the performance, 5 minutes rest time is earned and this time can accumulate.

“I cannot use USB sticks, CDs are my option here,” the man told DJ Warehouse recently. “The longest track I will play will be a progressive house track ranging between 10-15 minutes. Smokin’ Joe Mikhael does not take the easy way out! I cannot repeat the same song within a 4 hour timeframe, however I plan on taking that one step further by not repeating a song for the whole 168 hours.”

“There’s no limit on Red Bull or Caffeine however the doctor advised against much of it as it can contribute to having a heart attack. And obviously Smokin Joe Mekhael will break this record without using drugs!”

Deadmau5 is a dead mouse..

Joel Zimmerman, better known as his stage name DeadMau5, confirmed via his Twitter account tonight that he is officially dead via a drug over dose.. Yes! You read that correctly… In “Zombie Form” Deadmau5 himself took to his twitter account to once again squash rumors of his death after many fans were showing their condolence via his youtube channel. This is starting to become a yearly occurrence for the dance music phenomenon. Showing his sense of humor Deadmau5 had this picture to post http://twitpic.com/7cyaa6 and tweeted “I’m dead from a drug overdose now. Rumors are true. I’m totally dead.” and “Hide yo wife and hide yo brains! Zombie deadmau5 will eat your brains. Just sayin.”.. Although the rumors are completely untrue We must admit.. A Zombie DeadMau5 head would be pretty sweet! Maybe we can see this next time the Mau5 comes through Nashville!
